Ahh! A great win with injuries in NZ – In Wayne we trust but you’ve gotta love the Big Red V!
After the unexpected defeat the week before in the “local derby” with the Sharks, the Big Red V bounced back with a win across the Tasman. The final score ended up being 25-12 in favour of the Big Red V and the world (of the V supporters) has once again swung in the direction that they have come to expect.
In seasons past before “the Saint” arrived, the supporters were used to this yo-yo like performance of the club. They would when when the odds were stacked against them and lose the apparent simplest of games that they should of won. It was frustrating to be a believer in the team.
All that changed with “the Saint” – the saviour – he was brought in to do a job and that was completed with the required premiership that was delivered in the second year of his job. The first season was a whirlwind that peaked a little early and saw misery heaped on the club once again, the second delivered the goods in a resounding fashion. The third, well it is early days yet, but with the team bouncing back from that “unexpected” loss the season may be on the upward.
